Tamura-san

Left the church at 9am with Tamura-san.

As planned, we arrived at "Zion's Hill" at one o'clock.

This is a place run by my church's organisation,

located in Sukagawa in Fukushima prefecture, around 60km from the

now infamous nuclear power plant.

This place is now used by many churches in the Tohoku region

to store goods, to house volunteers, etc.

The pastor's meeting was being held when we arrived,

where we introduced ourselves.

Until evening, I cleaned up the old chapel building with Tamura-san,

as the walls were falling off following the earthquake.

In the late evening, there was a large earthquake, magnitude of about 6.

It got me by surprise (well, as any earthquakes do...).

Unexpectedly (to me at least)

three pastors arrived from Kyushu (west of Japan).

These were Pastor Yokota, Uyama and Takezaki.

They came to pay visit to churches in Fukushima and

to investigate what damage the earthquake and the tsunami caused.

The Hill was packed with pastors.

In fact, we were the only non-pastors on the ground.

But it was good to meet all of them,

it was all very inspiring to talk to them.

I thought I'll be eating ready-made food everyday,

but thankfully, they provided us with great meals too.

In the evening,

we sung worship songs in the chapel.

After supper, we went to a nearby onsen (hotsprings).
