一日中会議だった。
今日は時間がないので、英語のみ!
Had a UK capital meeting all day.
It occurred very interesting to me, that in the morning session, we had
a quite tense argument
between the analyst from different sites but during the lunch time,
the ice gradually melted when they started talking about their children.
I guess mothers have something in common, 'mother power' I would call
it,
maybe I should write about that in my essay
Yeah why not? I can apply some child gearing theories into
business can't I?
I mean I can say merger and aquisition is like marriage and joint
venture is a kid.
Kids tends to go running around everywhere and have to be taught what
to do just like joint venture needs to be
monitored to avoid the 'principal-agency problem'.
And kids tend to like sweets, which is similar to small companies like
funding from their parent company.
Wait a minute, in English we actually call it the 'parent
company', but hey,
why do we call it subsidiary, that's a bit daft, instead of subsidiary
we should just call it a kid of parent company.
And making consolidated financial statements is like having dinner at
the table and mother asking
'how was your school?' and kids answering 'I drew a lion!' and all
that, sharing information.
Come on, let's forget this stupid business, and be more family oriented,
it's all about love, you see.
Right, now I have to translate all that in Japanese, which I'm not
goona do, don't have time.
