インターナショナル・ウェンズデー
２時間前の朝９時から、日本勢は準備を開始。他は誰もいなくて、Masaが心配していた。
Tは、甚平みたいな着物をきて、宣伝係りになってもらった。
皆が持っている、日本の物をこうして集めてみると、ものすごい量になって驚いた。
マンガや雑誌、日本の映画、飾り物、日本代表のユニフォームなどなど。
２時間かけて準備を終えて、１１時過ぎから人が来始める。
一日前宣伝を開始した割りには、かなりの盛況で日本セクションもかなりもりあがった。
今回の目玉は、Yのプレイステーション・ポータブルだ。
「すっげー、こっちでも早く発売されないかなー」とか言って皆感動していた。
Yは、去年の夏中国で仕入れてきた、ブレスレットを売っていた。
１００本ぐらいのブレスレットすべてまとめて１ポンドで仕入れ、それを別々に１ポンドで売るっていうのだからせこい。
しかし、さすがに中国人には
「これ、どこで買ったの？」とか言って怪しまれていた。
バーミンガム大学や、近くの語学学校からも日本人が訪れ、楽しいひと時を持ちました。
片付け後、皆で軽く打ち上げをした。
Yは１０個ブレスレットが売れたらしく、１０ポンドの儲け。
そのお金でみんなでドリンクをおごってくれた。センクス！
テスト前のささやかなイベントでした。
International Wednesday
Was preparing for the event with the other Japanese from nine, had to skive a two hour lecture.
When we went there, nobody was around, Masa was worried.
T wore this kimono and became the walking advertisement.
I was surprised to see so many Japanese books, mangas, magazines and films in one place.
Preparating took about two hours and people started coming from 11.
Given the short time (a day) of advertising for this event, a lot of people visited the site, Japan section was quite popular.
The main item from Japanese booth this time was Y's Playstation Portable.
'Cool, can't wait till they come out in UK' they said.
Y was doing some small business.
He bought this pile of 100 or so bracelets in China for one pound, and he was selling it for a pound each!
Nobody knew that it was bought it China apart from one person, who asked
'Where did you buy this?'
'Actually, it's bought it China, yeah I know, sorry' I apologized just in case, she being Chinese.
Some Japanese came from the Birmingham Uni and the language school in Birmingham.
We had a great time and after the event, went to the Einsteins for a drink.
Y seemed to have made 10 pounds profit with his dodgy bracelets and with this money, he bought us all a drink.
